A heart-opening evening of community and song
Join us for Yala Lati's 21st annual concert at Santa Cruz's historic Rio Theatre and on Zoom!
Since 2005, Yala Lati has uplifted the heart of our community through soulful songs and transcendent harmonies under the artistic direction of Heather Houston. A beloved Santa Cruz song leader, recording artist, and vocal empowerment coach, Houston has spent more than two decades bringing people together through the transformative power of singing.
This year, Yala Lati welcomes Women Rise Choir, Houston's new community choir. Eighty voices strong, Women Rise will join Yala Lati for seven songs, bringing a powerful new dimension of harmony to the celebration.
Special guest Melanie DeMore, an internationally renowned vocal artist, composer, and song leader, will bring her extraordinary voice, original music, storytelling, and body percussion to an evening of connection across generations and cultures.
Together, these artists will fill the Rio Theatre with soulful, uplifting, rhythmically rich music that celebrates our shared humanity. Come experience the transformative power of community singing and an evening that leaves hearts open and spirits lifted.
